Paperwork and payment
The seller needs photo ID and proof of address, because the law requires us to check them. Bring the V5C if you have it. If the van is owned by a business, mention it when we call so you know what to have ready. We pay by bank transfer when the van is loaded. Cash payment for scrap vehicles is illegal under the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013.
The van goes to a licensed Authorised Treatment Facility, which issues a Certificate of Destruction and tells the DVLA. Any full months of tax are refunded automatically.
