Sell a damaged car in Deenethorpe
If you need to sell a damaged car in Deenethorpe, we can help whether the damage is a bent wing or a car the insurer has written off. Start by entering the registration and postcode to get your instant price. Tell us about the damage, and once you accept, we call to book a free collection.
Country lanes, the A43 and farm traffic all play a part in the damage we see around Deenethorpe. Deer strikes, verges, ditches and low-speed knocks in yards are all common reasons a car ends up with us.

Write-off categories, explained simply
| Category | What it means |
|---|---|
| Cat A | The whole car must be crushed |
| Cat B | The body shell must be crushed, some parts can be salvaged |
| Cat S | Structural damage, can be repaired and returned to the road |
| Cat N | Non-structural damage, can be repaired |
If your insurer wrote the car off and you kept it, that is a buy-back. You can still scrap it with us.
Should I fix a Cat S or Cat N car?
Sometimes it is worth it. Often, once you get repair quotes, it is not. If the cost of putting it right is more than the car is worth afterwards, scrapping usually makes more sense. Our scrap or repair guide helps you weigh it up.
Flood damage on low roads
Water gets into electrics, carpets and engines, and the effects often get worse over the following weeks. If your car has been through flood water and the garage has given up on it, we will buy it. Don't try to restart an engine that has stalled in water. Just tell us and we will collect it as a non-runner.
Damage that stops the car moving
A crumpled wheel or a front end pushed back can mean the car won't roll. That does not stop us. Our trucks come from our sister company, Rapid Recovery Corby, and carry winches, dollies and skates. Some trucks carry one car and tow a second, which helps when a household has more than one damaged vehicle to clear.
How is a damaged car priced?
The basics are the same as any scrap car. Weight and the current scrap metal price come first. Then we look at the make and model, how complete the car is, keys, the V5C and the location. Heavy damage that means parts are missing can lower the price, so describe the damage honestly. The damaged cars cost guide has more detail.
If we find something different on the day, we explain before we load. You can say no.
The paperwork
- Bring photo ID and proof of address.
- Have the V5C ready if you have it.
- Keep your insurer's paperwork for your own records.
- Remove your belongings, including under the spare wheel.
- Transfer any private plate with the DVLA before collection.
We pay by bank transfer on collection. We never pay cash, because the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013 makes it illegal for scrap cars.
The car then goes to a licensed Authorised Treatment Facility. It issues a Certificate of Destruction and tells the DVLA, and any full months of tax are refunded automatically. Our guide to the Certificate of Destruction explains why you should keep it.
Getting the car home from an accident
If the car is still at a garage or storage site after an accident, we can usually collect from there. Let us know where it is and who we need to speak to for access. We still need to check your ID at the handover.
Cancel the insurance and tax
Once a damaged car has gone to the treatment facility, the DVLA is told it has been scrapped. Any full months of vehicle tax left come back to you automatically, so you do not need to apply. Insurance is different. If the policy is still running after a buy-back, cancel it yourself once we have collected. Keep the Certificate of Destruction alongside the insurer's letters in case anyone asks about the car later.
